Taisuke Kusunoki

Our friend Taisuke Kusunoki is the breakout sensation who showed mad skills as he entered the Freeride World Qualifier 2017 in Hakuba, Japan. His performance boosted an astonishingly high level of action as he won the comp in great manners and secured a full wild card for the Freeride World Tour. Taisuke is originally from Osaka, a place were there´s barely any snow at all, but this wouldn´t stop him from pursuing his dream of becoming a freeskier. He started skiing by the age of 6 and from that moment he was completely hooked. It was mogul- and park riding that first fascinated him and with a lot of practice this made him an expert at managing a wide variation of slopes and conditions.

Today his home ground is Hokkaido, a treasure trove of incredible tree skiing, perfectly groomed slopes and incredible terrain features like no other place in the world. The trees helped him develop a tight technique and a unique riding style as well as an exceptional of line of vision. Besides from skiing, he enjoys spending time fishing, camping, skateboarding or listening to some good music.
