This catamaran, which is 35 feet long (10.81 metres) and built to a standard specification, consists entirely of materials developed by cutting edge technology.
A perfect example of this is the pre-impregnated carbon "skin” of the hulls, which is less than 1mm thick! A distinctive structural feature is the existence of three hulls, only two of which are floats, with the central hull acting as a strengthening structure, in place of the usual network of cables. This innovative concept makes for a lighter, faster craft and also improves aerodynamics.
The sails, which measure almost 160 sqm, mean that this catamaran lends itself particularly well to racing. The D-35 is especially suited to the unusual and demanding sailing conditions of Lake Geneva and can reach a top speed of 30 knots (about 50km/hr).
